Join Wildtender for our very first alumni gathering in the SF Bay Area
Event details
After nearly a decade of partnership with Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, Wildtender is heartened to continue deepening our relationship with our dear friends at San Francisco Zen Center. We are honored to extend our circle of practice further north to their Green Gulch Farm & Zen Center in Marin County, gathering with Wildtender alumni in the SF Bay Area for the first time.
Nestled among coastal redwoods, chaparral-covered headlands, and the Pacific Ocean, Green Gulch Farm is a place where land and dharma have been tended together for more than 40 years. Green Gulch's mission is to awaken the “bodhisattva spirit”—the commitment to awakening and the liberation of all beings—as a living expression of Buddha's Way. At the heart of Green Gulch is a daily practice of cultivation, care, and stewardship.
This daylong alumni gathering and retreat is an invitation to connect with ourselves and each other through shared practice, participation, and presence. It reflects Wildtender’s growing vision of weaving meaningful community beyond our programs, deepening our service to the land, and learning from local teachers in spiritual ecology and land stewardship.
Our day together will include:
Zen practice and Dharma talk with So-on Eli Brown-Stevenson, residing Tanto (Head of Monastic Practice) of Green Gulch
Tea and time to connect with like-hearted friends, old and new
Meaningful service work in the historic Green Gulch farm and garden
Nourishing lunch prepared by the Green Gulch kitchen with farm-grown ingredients
Embodied nature connection hike through the local wildlands, led by Wildtender guides
Wildtender visioning conversation with co-founders Fletcher Tucker & Noël Vietor
